Realize net-zero environmental impacts on our Group
The Group's Sustainable Vision is to “Realize zero environmental impact” and “Maximize people's well-being". To address social issues such as climate change, resource recycling, and pollution control, the Pillars of Success include “carbon neutrality,” “complete circulation of resources,” “maximization of the environment's recovery power,” and “response to intensifying natural disasters,” as well as “sustainable procurement". In addition to reducing the environmental impacts derived from the Group's business activities themselves to net-zero, we will also work to achieve net-zero environmental impacts through our products and services, and to capture new business opportunities and create new business models.
Realize net-zero environmental impacts on our Group
We have established the following four visions for our business activities, especially in the manufacturing process, based on the Sustainable Vision.

Based on the above, our Group aims to maximize people's well-being working in the manufacturing process and people in the local community by moving away from fossil energy in the manufacturing process, achieving net-zero environmental impacts, and automating the process through ICT, DX, and AI.
The largest share of fossil energy used in our manufacturing process is LNG, which we purchase for our electricity sales business, but we are considering measures to decarbonize it while meeting our customers' electricity needs. The next largest component is Heavy Oil A, which is purchased as fuel for commissioning. Here, we are focusing on product development in order to convert our products themselves to fuel.
We will also promote more efficient use of raw materials derived from fossil fuels, switch to renewable alternatives, switch from persistent materials to biodegradable alternatives, zero emissions, and reduce water consumption.
