Basic Approach
The Group strives to properly manage water use and prevent the discharge of pollutants through the planned intake of water from stable water sources, proper maintenance of facilities, and appropriate on-site management. Please refer to Environmental Management for more information on our structure and systems related to water resources.
Track Records
Water resource input and Water effluents discharged in our business activities
Water resource input for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2023 was 1,426 thousand m3 and wastewater discharge was 773 thousand m3. Approximately 90% of the wastewater is discharged into rivers, seas, and other public waters. We set our own standards for wastewater discharge, which are stricter than legal standards, to ensure thorough water quality control.Until the previous fiscal year, we disclosed data for the Company and some of its subsidiaries, but from the fiscal year ending March 31, 2023, the scope of disclosure has been expanded to include the consolidated group.
Initiatives
Water Intake Reduction
We will begin collecting data on water resource input and wastewater discharge and set targets.
Endorse the TNFD Recommendations, identify water risks, and promote reduction of water withdrawal based on the water resource use reduction plan.
