Biodiversity
Basic Policy
In addition to “carbon neutrality,” the Group has defined “Complete circulation of resources,” “Maximization of the environment’s recovery power,” “Response to intensifying natural disasters,” and “Sustainable procurement” as the Pillars of Success to reduce the negative impacts of business on nature, increase resilience to natural risks, and create long-term value.
Governance
Toward the global goal of halting and restoring natural losses by 2030, the Group has positioned “Complete circulation of resources," "Maximization of environment's recovery power," "Response to intensifying natural disasters," and "Sustainable procurement" as key management issues.
Natural capital-related initiatives are overseen under the same governance structure as climate change responses. That is, the Board of Directors and the Sustainability Promotion Committee, a subordinate body of the Board of Directors, deliberate on basic management policies and business activity policies and strategies related to natural strategies, and receive reports on the implementation status of various measures. Specific business strategies are implemented based on deliberations and decisions made by the Management Committee and the Sustainability Promotion Committee. For details, please refer to Sustainable Management Promotion System.
